1 Year of Online Dating at 50

The blog that started it all. Melani began her writing career by following the advice of her New School professor who suggested new writers should blog for practice and to build a following. Unsure of what to blog about, Melani looked for a topic she could write about for a limited amount of time. 

She had just started dating again, several years after the death of her husband, and the experiences she had while online dating were in her mind, insane. Melani created the blog: 1 Year of Online Dating at 50 and started chronicling her adventures. Melani quickly built a global following. The blog was named “Best Dating Blog,” Melani was named one of the “Ten Best Online Dating Experts” and at the end of the year, Melani had written, average word count, the equivalent of three books. The blog is not available online anymore. Melani has attempted for years to write a book about her experiences. It never felt quite right as a cohesive story. In the future she may explore a book of short stories based on her blog posts. She, along with a screenwriter friend, created a television series based on the blog. The series was going into development just before the Covid crisis. When the pandemic hit, development stopped and has not started again…yet.
